Pretoria’s Top 2. Twice! Skitterblink Montana Celebrates Double Best of Pretoria 2026 Recognition
Two services. Two podiums. One Skitterblink.
From a small team of three cleaners in 2023 to 21 employees and double recognition in the Best of Pretoria 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards, Skitterblink Montana has plenty of reasons to celebrate.
Skitterblink Montana is celebrating a proud milestone after placing second in both the Carpet Cleaning and Pest Control categories at the Best of Pretoria 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards.
For the local cleaning and pest control franchise, which opened its doors just three years ago, the double recognition was an exciting surprise and a welcome chance to reflect on how far the business has come.
Judging by the silver balloons, smiling faces, and handwritten “Thank You Montana” sign in the team’s celebration photo, everyone was delighted with the news!
But behind the excitement is a story of determination, teamwork, business growth and, most importantly, a community that has supported Skitterblink Montana from the beginning.
From Humble Beginnings to a Proud Milestone
Skitterblink Montana’s journey began in 2023, starting with pest control. Within just three months, the franchise expanded to include domestic cleaning, carpet cleaning, high-window cleaning, solar panel cleaning and builders cleaning.
What started as a small operation with just three cleaners has since grown into a business employing 21 people, including cleaning teams, supervisors, administrative staff and specialist service providers.
For owners Carol and Wayne, building the business from the ground up has meant hard work, learning experiences, and plenty of unexpected challenges.
Like many small business owners, they’ve experienced the long days, demanding schedules and constant juggling that come with running a growing business. But through it all, they’ve stayed focused on building a company customers can trust.
Three years later, being recognised by Montana and surrounding residents in two specialist service categories is a proud reminder of what perseverance, teamwork, and the support of a loyal community can achieve.
Two Different Services. One Shared Commitment.
While Skitterblink Montana offers a broad range of professional cleaning services, carpet cleaning and pest control hold a particularly special place in the business.
Both specialist divisions are headed by Wayne, whose passion lies in the technical side of cleaning and pest control.
From restoring carpets that have endured years of everyday wear to helping homeowners and businesses deal with unwanted pests, these services require specialist knowledge, appropriate equipment and a careful, professional approach.
Although the two services are very different, they share the same commitment: helping people have cleaner, safer, and more comfortable spaces.
Achieving second place in both categories is especially meaningful because each represents a different area of expertise within the business.
And at the heart of everything Skitterblink Montana does is a simple philosophy:
Sparkling With Purpose. Serving With Joy.
For the team, this means approaching each job with care, treating customers and their properties with respect, and doing their best to make the experience as easy and pleasant as possible.
It’s not simply about completing a cleaning job or pest control treatment. It’s about providing dependable service that customers feel comfortable recommending.
The People Behind the Skitterblink Name
Awards may carry a business name, but it’s the people behind that name who make the work happen.
Today, Skitterblink Montana employs 21 people who collectively keep the business running, from the cleaners working in customers’ homes and businesses to the supervisors, technicians and administrative team coordinating everything behind the scenes.
While Wayne oversees the carpet cleaning and pest control operations, Carol focuses on organising, managing and keeping the various parts of the business moving in the right direction.
As anyone who has worked in the service industry knows, no two days are ever quite the same!
Early mornings, changing schedules, demanding jobs, and unexpected challenges are part of the job. Sometimes everything goes according to plan, and other times it takes a little extra teamwork and creative problem-solving to get things done.
For Carol and Wayne, the Best of Pretoria recognition celebrates not only the business itself, but also their employees.
“Running a business isn’t always sunshine and roses. Some days you’re so busy putting out fires, sorting out problems and just trying to get through the day that you forget to stop and see how far you’ve actually come,” says Carol.
“And then something like this happens, and suddenly you realise, hang on a minute, we’ve actually done pretty well! We don’t always give ourselves enough credit for how far we’ve come.”
It’s a particularly meaningful moment for those employees who have been part of Skitterblink Montana’s journey since its early days.
Their commitment and hard work have helped shape the business into what it is today.
Montana, This One Is for You!
There’s a reason the team’s celebration photograph carries a big handwritten message: THANK YOU MONTANA!
Montana and the surrounding Pretoria neighbourhoods are more than just areas on a service map. They’re the community where Skitterblink Montana has built customer relationships, grown its business, and established its reputation.
And that’s what makes the Best of Pretoria recognition so special.
The Readers’ Choice Awards let the public recognise the businesses they value and support.
For a growing local company, being voted into second place in not one, but two categories is a meaningful vote of confidence.
“Cleaning and pest control aren’t always glamorous jobs, but they’re important jobs,” says Carol.
“Our team members are the ones out there in our customers’ homes and businesses, doing the work and representing our name.
To know that people have recognised those efforts makes us incredibly proud.”
To every customer who voted, recommended Skitterblink Montana to a friend, booked a service or supported the business along the way, the message is simple:
Thank you for helping us get here!
Three Years Down. And So Much More to Come.
For Skitterblink Montana, achieving second place twice isn’t the finish line. It’s encouragement to keep growing, learning and improving.
The vision for the years ahead is to become one of Pretoria’s most trusted names in professional cleaning and pest control, known not only for the quality of its work but also for the way it treats customers, supports employees and serves the local community.
As the business continues to grow, Carol and Wayne hope to create more meaningful employment opportunities, develop their team members and strengthen the relationships they’ve built throughout Pretoria.
Because ultimately, success isn’t measured only by awards or business growth.
It’s also measured by the people who choose to trust you, the employees who stand beside you, and the difference your business makes in others’ lives.
Pretoria’s Top 2. Twice!
From a small team of three cleaners and a new business venture in 2023 to 21 employees and two second-place Best of Pretoria achievements in 2026, Skitterblink Montana has come a long way.
While the team takes a moment to celebrate, they’ll be back tomorrow to do what they do best: help customers care for their homes and businesses.
To the Skitterblink Montana team, customers and the community that made this milestone possible:
THANK YOU, MONTANA!
Two services. Two podiums. One Skitterblink.
