The truth is your home and workplace has always needed disinfecting since germs have and will always be around, so whether you would like to know how to clean your home or workplace from the Coronavirus or just in general – this article will help you. The following procedures are the procedures we follow when disinfecting a home or workplace so you can put your mind at ease that these are tried, tested and professional cleaning methods.

DISINFECTING YOUR HOME

Since we are all at home there is no better time than the present to get to disinfecting our homes. Here is how you can get going.

Bedrooms & Living Areas – These areas are usually, well used which is why our infection control protocols suggest that you spray air disinfectant in living areas twice a day and bedrooms daily. High touch surfaces such as door handles and other surfaces should be wiped down with disinfectant wipes 3 times per week.

Kitchens & Food Areas – These areas are at high risk for contamination of food which is why you should be extra vigilant when it comes to disinfecting these areas. We suggest you spray air disinfectant before the preparation of a meal and use disinfectant wipe 3 times a week on door handles, surfaces and eating utensils.

Bathrooms & Toilets – For obvious reasons the bathrooms and toilets should be cleaned and disinfected properly and regularly. We suggest you spray air disinfectant after use and use a disinfectant wipe on door handles, toilet seats and taps daily. Another important thing to remember is that a bathroom should be deep cleaned at least once a month. The last thing is that everyone using the bathroom should wash their hands with soap and water when done using the facilities.

DISINFECTING YOUR WORKPLACE

Here are a few things you should consider when disinfecting your workplace.

Offices & Board Rooms – These rooms should be disinfected properly by spraying disinfectant in board rooms after each meeting and in offices daily. High touch areas always have risk associated which is why you should use disinfectant wipes on all door handles, desk surfaces, chairs, telephones and keyboards at least 3 times a week.

Public Areas – These areas include reception, admin, passages, kitchenette, etc. We recommend spraying disinfectant twice per day and wiping down door handles, desk surfaces, other surfaces, telephones and keyboards 3 times a week with disinfectant wipes.

Bathrooms – Bathrooms can be a breeding ground for germs which is why we suggest you implement a handwashing policy and have alcohol disinfectant available in bathrooms for all visitors and personnel. You should spray air disinfectant in bathrooms every morning and afternoon. High-risk areas like door handles, toilet seats and taps should be wiped down with disinfectant wipes daily.
